Unit 4
Why do we have to cite our source? Because we have to give credit to who ever wrote the research that we are using to write a paper. Also in case someone does understand how we came up with a certain sentence they can go to our reference and see that we used a valuable source. How would I feel if someone used something I created and didn't give me credit? I would feel left out because they are basically lying that they came up with it and not me. It's like me taking credit for the cooking my mom did knowing it was all her she would feel hurt because I am taking the credit for the yummy food. I think plagiarism is wrong and should be handled seriously. I think the school's rules and regulations on the issue is fair and they are the following :1st offense: Failure of the assignment in which the action occurred.2nd offense: Failure of the class in which the action occurred. 3rd offense: Expulsion or permanent dismissal from the University (syllabus) You should do your own work and if you do quote someone's work then cite it and give the references at the end of the paper. The internet is a big cyber world and things like youtube and Wikipedia they are legally owned by the person that came up with the site but all the videos downloaded on to it are owned by the person that puts it on there. It's hard to say with these sites who really owns them Wikipedia are more opinions then facts so it the same like youtube not reliable source for anything. Well this is my post for unit 4 hope you enjoy it. :)
